At Techture Ventures, we respect your privacy. This policy details how our **Sidecast Companion Extension** and companion web platform protect your data.
🔒 Zero Data Collection
We do not collect, store, intercept, or share your live stream audio/video feeds, browsing history, or private conversations. All operations are processed locally on your client machine and via encrypted peer-to-peer WebRTC connections.
1. Chrome Extension Permissions
To deliver real-time stream synchronization and custom watching overlays, our Chrome Companion requests the following permissions under Manifest V3 guidelines:
- "storage": Caches your logged-in session credentials locally to keep you authenticated across browser tabs.
- "activeTab": Limits extension interactions solely to the specific web page where you explicitly toggle the watch companion.
- "scripting": Injects our local companion overlay elements (`content.js`) into active stream webpages.
- "webNavigation": Detects matches on supported sports portals to display context-aware sync options.
- "sidePanel": Hosts our companion sidebar (`dashboard.html`) directly alongside your live sports broadcasts.
2. WebRTC Media and Peer Communication (Audio/Video)
Our watch parties feature peer-to-peer live chat and voice sync features:
- Sandboxed Media: Camera and microphone streams are processed temporarily in volatile memory. No audio/video binary streams are sent to, intercepted, or saved on our servers.
- Web Audio Mixing: Broadcast stream volumes are mixed and adjusted (ducked) locally in your browser using the client-side Web Audio API (`AudioContext` and `GainNode`) whenever peers speak.
3. Accounts and Security
For profile registration and database authentication, we process limited info:
- Account Data: Username, email, and encrypted passwords. Passwords are hashed cryptographically using advanced standard algorithms before database write.
- Data Ownership: We do not sell or rent user details to any third-party marketing services. You can permanently delete your profile at any time via your Settings panel.
- Cookies/Local Storage: Used strictly to maintain session tokens and remember user layout options across page reloads.
